Under the corporation we are trying to clean my credit before dec only two good accts open?

dablack2004 asked:

I am preparing myself to open a business under a corporation and have some of the money to pay off the delinquent accounts on my personal credit. After going over my reports i see 1 or two postive accounts the rest of course delinquent and some very small that i can pay now. The huge bills i got letters from the creditors to reduce half the price and i would like to pay some of them this month. . At the time i was barely making it for the delinquent accounts. . If i make arrangements with the creditors to delete them how will that raise the score and how soon? because i would like to try for a loan in december. Unfortunately the credit union ran my credit for a loan and of course that didn’t go through due to the delinquent accounts. . Wouldn’t i need to show proof of paying something to raise my score ? My car was already paid off two years ago but i guess the company did not report and i assumed in our xmas loans that we pay on time every year i was on the account but it only shows my husband! Under a new corporation the owners credit is also reviewed right? How can i raise my score before december? I already have the letters to prepared for the pay delete and the creditors addresses . Don’t mind paying now that i am able for the small to medium bills but i have to know which is the best way. I hoping my credit wont’ effect the corporation credit although the companies say other wise i am scared to go for a new credit card to get another ding on my credit.

Disputing Credit Report Information

Jenny R Smith asked:

Information obtained from your credit report enables creditors to gauge the risk factor in lending money to you. Credit report usually provides information on your identity and on how regularly you pay your bills. Credit report is used as the deciding factor by creditors when you apply for credit facility.

Thus, it is vital that you maintain a good credit report consciously. Incorrect information on your report could be damaging in the long term and will affect your buying power drastically. It is therefore necessary to monitor and make sure your information with the credit reporting agencies is updated and accurate.

In case of any discrepancies in your information or rating, you can dispute the credit report information with the help of the Fair Credit Reporting Act or the FCRA.

Review Your Credit Report
The first step in verifying your credit report is to obtain a copy of one. According to Federal law, you are eligible to one copy of credit report from each of the agencies annually. After obtaining your credit report, go through it thoroughly to ensure that the information reported is correct or not. In case of incorrect information, you can dispute the same with the help of the Fair Credit Reporting Act or the FCRA.

File A Credit Report Dispute
Upon finding incorrect information in your credit report the first step should be to alert the credit bureau and the source of your information in writing. Doing this puts you on the path to dispute the wrong information.

The next step involves attaching proof supporting your claim. This includes statements or checks which have been canceled. Along with this it is a good idea to include your personal details like name, current postal address, and information on dispute and explanation on why the information is incorrect. To provide a clear picture, you could include a copy of the credit report highlighting the disputed information.

These documents have to be then dispatched through certified mail requesting for a return receipt. This will make sure you have proof your mail has been received by the credit bureau. It is very important to keep a copy of all the documents you send them.

The Credit Bureau Responds To Your Dispute
The credit bureau usually takes about thirty days to respond to your claim after checking all the necessary information and facts. Credit bureau sends the disputed facts to the information provider which in turn investigates the same and reports back to the bureau.

Upon completion of the investigation, the credit bureau provides you with the results. In case the dispute has been accepted and facts altered, the bureau provides you with a free copy of the changed report. Credit bureau can also be requested to send the correction to any other company which may have accessed your credit report in the past six months.

After all this, it is a good idea to check the other credit bureaus as well and set right the information.

Should I pay bills sent by a scam company for products never shipped so my credit won’t be affected?

mamaisland asked:

I recieved a legitimate looking letter in the mail saying that I was pre-approved for an account with a company. This company deals with electronics. I ordered a computer on Dec, 12 2006, only to find 3 weeks after it was never shipped out, my order was still pending shipment. Since the order was still pending shipment in Jan, I cancelled my order on Jan.2nd but my order status says partially cancelled and none of the customer reps are any help I guess because it’s a scam. I have recieved a bill and I payed it because I don’t want to ruin my credit. The customer service reps say to wait 1-2 billing cycles for my pre-approved credit card and personal credit card to be refunded. Customer service are not able to correctly cancell my order and keep giving me the run around, not to mention they say they don’t have a supervisor. What should I do? I found out that their have been 6 reports already filed on this company. This comapny has my all my personal information as well.

Maintaining Your Credit Report

Jord asked:

Tips to Having Good Credit Report

Some people have no idea that they way they manage their credit cards and bills reflect on their credit report. To be able to have a good appearance on your credit report, it is best to pay your credit cards promptly even if you just pay the minimum amount that needs to be paid. The minimum amount due is stated in your credit card billing statement. This is the amount that you need to pay to avoid being billed for not reaching the percentage that is needed.

It is not only your credit card bills that you need to keep an eye on but also your loans payments, utility bills, taxes, rentals and others. Paying your bills on time shows that you are dedicated to paying your debts even if these are just the minimum amounts of your credit cards. Utility bills and rentals will also reflect on your credit standing especially if these are paid to the bank or a big corporation who submits credit standing to an establishment that most creditors go to look up people’s credit report.

As much as possible pay your credit card bills in full every month. Doing so will reflect on your personal credit report and show that you are responsible enough to use your credit card with the salary that you are receiving. This means that you are living just within your means and not abusing the privileges of your credit card.

Avoid charging too close to your credit limit. This will have an impact in your credit report especially if you can not pay the whole amount when it is due. It also does not show good credit standing if you take so long to pay off your credit card billings. Rotating your payments to juggle the expenses that you have accrued does not bode well for a good credit report. Maintaining a lot of credit cards will bring you deeper into debt if you use all of them and just juggle the payments to pay the minimum amounts for each.

You can check your credit in online credit report but experts advise you to limit checking because frequent checking is a sign that you are anticipating credit problems. Check your report annually to see if there are some errors that may have been placed. These can happen and it is best to be aware of these for corrections.
