how can I change my personal information on credit bureaus?

Jun asked:

I can’t obtain credit, and I can’t get a credit report.
The personal information I give to them don’t match the information of my home address that they have on file. I have been told to call all three credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union) and to have my personal information changed.

The thing is the numbers I have don’t work. I always get a machine that never connects to a human being and every time I call I end up having to do things online. I’ve read their FAQ online on all three companies and they have said that I have to contact my creditors since they are the one that update my personal information on file, but the thing is I have no creditors.

help, I need to know what to do.

Wiped off credit report in 7 years?

Phat Kidd asked:

OK, so I had a car repossessed about 6 or 6 1/2 years ago. It is about a $7,500 debt and has been sent to more than one collection agency and they’ve offered me a 50% settlement. I haven’t made contact with anyone in probably 6 years.

My question is, is should I pay this money because I’m ready to start a new chapter in my life that includes rebuilding my credit or should I just wait for this to be erased off my credit(which will be when)? As for doing the right thing and paying a debt, I was scammed by this company so me paying the money has nothing to do with them and everything to do with my personal credit intentions.

Also, I don’t plan on buying any big purchases, i.e. house or car, in the next two years at least and don’t need credit cards, so is waiting the best options?
