SHERMAN

I presume you have insurance, and your lawyer was hired by the insurance company. The lawsuit will show up on your credit only if there is a judgment -- and it's bad only if the judgment is unpaid. The overwhelming majority of personal injury lawsuits are either dismissed or settle before trial. Even if there is a judgment against you, I doubt, based on what you've told us, that it will exceed the limits of your insurance policy.

DOUG

If you have insurance, you should contact your insurance carrier so that they can either settle the claim or defend against it. If it is settled or if it goes to court and a judgment is rendered, the insurance company will pay up to the policy limits. It will not show up on a credit report as a judgment against you.

If you do not have insurance, you will either have to defend yourself in court with a lawyer or have a default judgment entered against you. In such a situation, a judgment would ultimately appear on your credit report.

BRUCE

If you get a judgment against you it will,. but if you are ordered to pay the court house back it wont, unless you dont pay, then they can suspend your license and put you in jail.

TOMMIE

It will appear on your credit once a judgement is issued. I wouldnt worry to much about that, but it will be a problem if you try to buy a house because it is a matter of public record
