Does lawsuit stay on your credit report?

sadia a asked:

If you sue an employer, whether you win or lose, does that stay on your credit report or in any other personal records? Would that cause problems to find another job?

Thanks

That would not be on your credit report but it will be a matter of public record and if a potential employer does a thorough background they can find it, but most do not.

A lawsuit in which a judgment was filed against would show on your credit report. A lawsuit in which you were the plaintiff would not. There would be a public record of the litigation. Whether that would impact future employment would depend on the prospective employer.
