Reccomendations for credit monitoring?

katie asked:

Can anyone reccomend an online program/company for personal credit monitoring? I had a friend have some trouble with idenity theft and I’d like to have something where I can watch my credit reports and score every month for a low fee. Any suggestions?

Equifax has a service for 7.95 a month that sends you an email every time your credit score changes (up or down).
It will also tell you the report change that caused the credit score to go up or down. (This item deleted, that item added)

If you don’t want to bother with buying new credit reports every few months, this is really one of the best options.

Here is the information on the ScoreWatch product.

Equifax is like $10-12 per month and there are the primary company people use to run your credit.

The most likely site is freecreditreport.com which offers all three reports and scores for a monthly fee. The price really depends on the product you choose and the “free” part is that your first report is free if you get the three in one credit monitoring service. Good Luck.
