This is the site to receive your annual free credit report required by law. Other sites charge a fee. You will not get a FICO credit score at this site. Only the contents of your file are shown.

This is a very safe site. It’s the one set up by the government to check your credit reports from all three main bureaus. However, you do have to go through a bit of advertising to get to your free report, so a little care is in order. They will confirm social, alternative address or name info; some item that only you should know, before you have access to your report. But it’s a worthwhile site. Just don’t agree to sign up for any of the advertising offers and you will be fine. And it’s secure.
