How do I get credit reports on my customers?

Tom V asked:

To get my own credit report, I had to provide all kinds of personal info, plus I had to answer “verification” questions. But when I applied for a sears card, all they needed was my name, ssn, and date of birth.

So how does that work? How do I get sears access to credit reports?

Sears joined a credit bureau and pays fees. That’s how they do it without all the info. They are bound by their membership rules of confidentiality.

You have to have a large business and pay a lot of money. And provide even more personal information.
