Credit Report Results?
nevergiveup12908 asked:
I’m in the process of running my credit report and I’m at the step now where I have to verify my identity by giving my account number for an open account I have. All I’ve got is an account with Wal-Mart but I see results for that plus an American express card and a Lord and Taylor account. I’ve had my suspicions about someone having my personal info in the past and am not sure what I should do now. I’m 19 and know very little about this.

It is possible that someone has opened accounts in your name, however you should also be aware that some of those questions that they ask are trick questions.
They will throw in extra accounts that you really do not have or ask about a mortgage payment that you would not have, on those questions choose none of the above. They are making sure you are who you claim to be.

Are you using annualcreditreport.com? That’s the site you want to use. If you can’t access it on-line, print out the written report request form and mail it in.

Just use the Walmart one- they throw in others they know you don’t have just to keep security tighter. If you check one you don’t have they know you are not you.

There is an option to dispute whatever is not yours.
They have upto 45 days to get you an answer or they MUST take it off your report.
After they get you answer, if they show that cc “x” is your you will then need to contact each credit bearue and open a case for identity theft.
